Today [April 12, 2014] I had the honor of using the most beautiful image of the Orlando Florida Temple from Temples in Bloom, (Thank you Kim!) to create our handout for April 2014 Visiting Teaching Message. THE DIVINE MISSION OF JESUS CHRIST: SAVIOR & REDEEMER. Gorgeous! Right?!

Can I just say that I absolutely love this temple! I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (it was the 1st Temple in Florida), the only temple closest to us before that was the Atlanta Georgia Temple. Our youth would road trip to Atlanta Georgia every other year. Ah…the memories of the best road trips ever! I dream of owning a 12 passenger van [link updated July 2017!] one day, just so that I can let me kids have the same joyous experience (I only have 2 kids which is why my hubby is having a hard time with the request, LOL). Not to mention the Young Women would absolutely love it on Temple Tuesdays we’d be able to pick up almost every single one of them in the same van! A girl can dream.
This month we needed a temple picture with a fountain “springing up” because it was inspired by this scripture quote:
Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. – John 4:14
Right?! So of course I searched the interwebs and found the one I used and had to use it because

  • A. it was gorgeously perfect and
  • B. it was the ORLANDO TEMPLE!!! I was so excited when they said I could spotlight their biz by using their temple pic.

Temples In Bloom has several temples they have photographed with fountains and so many beautiful flowers. You know temple grounds are always kept so perfectly. The pictures are breathtaking and you can order the prints right from their website! 5x7s are only $5!! Totally worth it! We all remember we’ve been counseled to hang a picture of a Temple in every room. (I’m still working on that.) But I do have a temple wall, which has over 60+ Temples on it. I’ll have to do a post on my Temple Wall later, when I can reach high enough on the wall to hang the quote I need. Here’s that temple in every room quote:
“It would be a fine thing if … parents would have in every bedroom in their house a picture of the temple so [their children] from the time [they are] infant[s] could look at the picture every day [until] it becomes a part of [their lives]. When [they reach] the age that [they need] to make [the] very important decision [concerning going to the temple], it will have already been made.” – Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, ed. Edward L. Kimball (1982), 301. Quoted by Pres. Thomas S. Monson.
May those you make an effort to reach this day, this week, month, this year feel of the Savior’s love through you! I hope you know that you are loved as well."
